The Elite Division course will circumnavigate Lake Lanier Islands for a distance of 7.75 miles. The Recreational Division will be an out and back course of 3 miles. See below for additional race course information. Don’t let the long course scare you. If you want to paddle around the island, have paddled this distance before, and feel comfortable with the race day conditions, go for it.
The 2011 SUP Splash Series Champion, Wes Stolp, will be conducting a FREE stand up paddle instructional clinic. The clinic will held after the race around lunch time.
Come try out lots of different SUPs. Dealers and outfitters will have free boards for your to paddle during and after the race.
Lake Lanier Islands Resort has lots of other activities for you post-race, including a water park, horseback riding, and zip lines. Check out the Activities page HERE. Additional charges apply.
Please note that this resort location is awesome but has a few rules. No outside food or drink is permitted at the beach or race area. There is an excellent bar and grill onsite. No pets are allowed. There is a $10 gate fee PER CAR and that amount will be credited towards your food purchase (alcohol excluded). We are also reducing the race fee by $5 to help fund food and beverages purchases. Lunch is available for purchase at the bar and grill.
