Whether you just like the excitement of racing or you are a serious competitor, this race is for you! Saturday’s racecourse will be a sprint to the first buoy then a zigzag course near the shoreline with short beach runs between paddling and buoy turns. Therefore, the zigzag race will be an exciting race for spectators, racers, and photographers alike. Sunday we are excited to offer a 4 & 8 mile distance race with cash prizes. Malibu Rum is presenting the after party Luau and awards ceremony. With over $8,000 in cash and prizes, the Pacifico Paddle Challenge 3 is a race you won’t want to miss.

Join Pacifico Beer and Saltwater Kite & Paddle in another race to remember. This year the PPC is a two day event. We are offering over $8,000 in cash/prizes. This is not just another race. The Pacifico Paddle Challenge will test the racer’s athletic ability in several ways. There will be a short zigzag race and an elite long zigzag race where the paddler will run between course laps. Racers will ride their boards to the beach, then they will complete a short beach run with paddle in hand, then relaunch their board and paddle the short course of buoy turns. We will also have a kid’s race with cash prizes & a Relay race with cash prizes. This year we are inviting Kayakers, OC1 & OC2, Prone paddlers, 14′ race board, 12’6 race board, and unlimited board Paddlers for the four mile straight distance race. Also, we added an eight mile Elite straight distance race where Unlimited Paddlers, Prone paddlers, OC1, 14′ race, 12’6 race, and stock board paddlers are welcomed to compete for cash. Don’t be intimidated! This is a fun day of Paddling for all skill levels and all ages. This year’s charity is The Kind Mouse. An organization that feeds hungry children in and around the Tampa area. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Kind Mouse. The preregistration cost is $79 for one day of racing or $114 for both days of racing. Registration on the day of the race is $100 for one day of racing & $135 for two days of racing. We will have over $5,000 in cash and more than $3,000 in prizes. Postcard Inn will give you a discounted room rate if you mention Saltwater Kite & Paddle or Pacifico Paddle Challenge. We are excited to offer a Luau as our after race party. Come to the Luau hungry because Pacifico Beer is sponsoring the Pig roast with all the fixings, Pacifico beer specials, & music for everyone to enjoy. We hope you can make it!!! Click to download the Parking Sheet

Please note, there is a small change in the parking information. Due to the Color Me Radd 5K, the Shelby Street entrance to LP Field will be closed.

From I-65N, proceed south on I-65 to I-24 east and exit at James Robertson Parkway. This is now Interstate Drive, stay in the right lane. Go through first traffic light (crossing over James Robertson Parkway) and to the second traffic light, which is the corner of Woodland Street and Interstate Drive.  Turn left from Woodland Street to South 1st, then take a right onto Russell, Street and follow around to Titans Way where you will park in Lot H (this is a change from earlier information). This is right across from the grass loading area for the boards, and will make unloading and loading easy.

If you already printed off a parking sheet, no worries. Just cross out “R” and put “H” on it instead. Otherwise, print the attached new sheet.

If you enter off of Shelby, you will not be able to get into Lot H. Should you have any issues once you arrive, call Mike Woods (615-636-5755) and he will inform the officers at Woodland to let you in.

So, again, enter from Woodland Street, park in Lot H, have fun, race well.
